Call the Midwife: A Memoir of Birth, Joy, and Hard Times - Jennifer Worth, Nicola Barber

I can see why this book was so popular.  Barber’s narration doesn’t disrupt the image of the television show, so if you, like me, are coming to this book after watching the television series, you’ll be fine.  What is interesting is how much the series did take from the book, though sometimes re-assigning to various other nurses.

It is interesting listening to some of Worth’s comments because she, at times, uses the word friendship, when something based on class is going on instead.  It’s actually rather interesting look at class as well as mid-wifery.
