The Jews of Bialystok During World War II and the Holocaust - Sara Bender, Yaffa Murciano

I first became interested in the Bialystok Ghetto while reading The True Story of Hansel and Gretel, in which four characters few the Ghetto and most of the action takes place in the nearby forest. There is much in the way of a detailed study, so this book does fill in many gaps. At time, the prose is a little dry, but the book is very readable. Each chapter is divided into different sections, and Bender does give the reader a complete view (as much as one is possible).
