Story telling is an art form
A. S. Byatt is never more prefect than when she is writing fairy tales. And this collection has my absolute favorite story of Byatt’s “The Story of the Eldest Princess”. In this short story, Byatt attacks the eldest always failing in fairy tales as well as aspects of story telling and fate. The title story of the collection is also a key to the theme of the collection, the idea of appearance and reality.
