They are really out to get you!

Evil Machines - Terry Jones

Have you ever yelled abusive language at your computer when it wipes out what you have just been typing?

Have you ever been frustrated by the dishwasher coming on by itself?

Have you ever been woken out of a pleasant sleep by the smoke alarm beeping the beep of battery death?

Then Evil Machines is the book for you.  In this marvel of an epic of short length, you have kidnapping cars, Hells motorcycles (not Hell’s Grannies or Hell’s Angels, but the motorbikes each group would use).  There is the phone that always tells the truth and the vacuum cleaner with extra suck, yep, I went there.

Jones’ novel is part madcap adventure and second parts family hallmark movie. At first, it appears to be a collection of stories about an elevator that goes places it shouldn’t be able, the phone, the vacuum, the car, and so on.  But then the train arrives and the train carries us to places we want to be at but that we didn’t know we should be.  If you know what I mean, and who cares if you don’t.  Too say any more would be to ruin this wonderful farce.
