This collection includes Atwood’s short story “The Female Body”, which is something that Barbie in her current Unapologetic Ad Campaign should read.
Atwood’s collection is short fiction. Most of the stories are two pages, and the longest is five. Despite the short length of the pieces and the quick readability of the book, there is much depth. “Gertrude Talks Back”, for instance, is a brilliant take on Shakespeare’ Hamlet. The reader will be nodding in agreement until they laugh. All this in a span of a page.
There is also an interesting look at moths and fairy tale villains.
