I was never much of a Tom Cruise fan, so when he went on the Today and acted like the completer A** he apparently is, it become quite easy for me to boycott his movies. Yes, there is most likely some truth to the accusation that we over medicate; however, I know that I would not be here typing this if I hadn't been put on anti-depressents. Cruise's statement about post partum depression, I found to be only outdone by his comments about Katie Holmes overcoming hers because of diet and what all. How come Katie Holmes didn't say this herself? And let's not even get into how he made a serious illness sound like a sore thoart that leaves you halfway though the day.Hence, my problem with this book. We all know that that Cruise is not a sterling speciman of whatever. This book about Scientology focuses too much on Cruise. I much rather here about the people who were raised in the Cult (hard to form any other determination) and got out. I much rather hear about the non-Hollywood types because Wright tells over and over again Hollywood big shots don't deal with the nitty gritty. Maybe because these people have thier own books coming out.Wright does seem to be trying to be fair; he really doesn't use the C word (Cult, not the normal other c word). But reading this is enough to make anyone revoke the status that Scientology has and make the IRS go after them again.
