I brought this book because back when the History Channel was actually the History Channel and not the Pawn and Alien Channel, the series was shown.
And anything with Baldrick is wonderful.
Robinson experiences jobs that you will not want to do, including, wonderfully, that of fishwife in the Tudor area. The focus is on the job and not biography, so graphic descriptions of sheep innards occur. Robinson nicely mixes actually research (of the scholarly and hands on kind) as well as quotes from contemporary sources. There is, of course, humor.
